Lindsay Behind Bars

Lindsay Lohan was booked into an all-female jail in Los Angeles yesterday for violating her probation on two 2007 drunk-driving and cocaine possession charges. The actress is likely to serve just 14 days of her 90-day sentence, said a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. He said nonviolent female inmates generally serve about 25% of their sentence. Good behavior and jail overcrowding could also reduce her time in the pokey. The judge ordered Lohan must not be released to house arrest or electronic monitoring after her release from jail. Robert Shapiro, who agreed to defend the actress last week, resigned Monday. Lohan had been staying in a sober-living facility Shapiro founded since last week. It is unclear when she left the facility or why he quit. Lohan was represented yesterday by longtime attorney Shawn Chapman Holley, who had resigned earlier but never filed a formal motion with the court. Lohan's next movie. “Machete,” is due for release on September 3rd.
