judge’s order and a temporary injunction. While officers were talking
with Major at her apartment, Lohan called again. She put him on
speakerphone and police listened. They went to the hotel Lohan was
staying in around 1 a.m. to arrest him. However, Lohan spotted them and
jumped from a third story balcony to try to get away. A TMZ crew
captured video as police pulled Lohan from trees to arrest him. Lohan
was taken to a local hospital to get checked out for a possible broken

around her. Does he not know how to read? He’d better understand. If you
even dream about her and violate my order then you will go to jail.”
Meanwhile, Kate appeared in court Tuesday to ask for a permanent
restraining order against Michael, but her request was denied by the
judge who granted a temporary restraining order which lasts until
November 15th. A police report alleges Michael flew into a rage after

and squeezed her arms. She suffered minor bruising and complained of
shoulder pains.” Michael also allegedly smashed Kate’s cell phone and

Michael Lohan Arrested On Domestic Violence Charge
Lindsay Lohan’s father has been arrested in Florida on domestic violence charges after police said he grabbed his girlfriend’s arms and pushed her down multiple times during a day-long argument. Police said one cause of the fight between 51-year-old Michael Lohan and 28-year-old Kathryn Major was a court date that was scheduled for today on a previous domestic violence case. Major also said that Lohan got violent when she refused to give him oral sex. After being placed in custody, Lohan complained of chest pains and was taken to St Joseph’s Hospital. Police said he apparently tried to check himself out and leave unnoticed when he thought the officers had departed, but they quickly arrested him. After police got the call around 1 a.m. Tuesday, they said they could hear a female voice yelling “stop” and “leave me alone.” They said when they entered the house they found Lohan sweaty and out of breath, defensively saying everything was OK, while Major yelled for police to help her. Major told police Michael banged his head on a door, causing his forehead to bleed and warned her that if cops came over, he would blame her for the injury.

“X Factor” people were claiming the bathroom as their own so he left an
angry note right on the door that read: “These restrooms are for
everyone. If you have a problem with that, come see me. I’m on stage 46.
Just ask for Rob. I’m the 6’ 3” black man.” An “X Factor” spokeswoman

Taylor, who also manages Britney Spears, was letting things slip through
the cracks and wanted someone who could focus more on her. On top of

Former ‘SNL’ Star Reveals Crack Addiction
In
an upcoming memoir, former “Saturday Night Live” star Darrell Hammond
reveals his addiction to cocaine, crack and alcohol. Hammond’s memoir,
“God If You’re Not Up There, I’m F*cked,” is due out November 8th. The
actor is well known as the funnyman who graced “SNL” to spoof
celebrities like Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump and Sean Connery.
He tells CNN there was a darker side that played out in his life, before
he became known for those roles, and then later on, backstage before he
went out to perform. Hammond said he was stabbed, beaten and subjected
to electrical shocks by his mother during his childhood, which led to
self-mutilation and hospitalizations during his later life and while he
was performing on “SNL.” On the back of the book jacket, Hammond says,
“I have to give the ‘SNL’ crew props – it cannot have been easy to work
with me. Over the years, the medication I was on included: Depacote,
Lamictal, Zyprexa, Abilify, Zoloft, Ativan, Triavil, and Klonopin. I was
drinking, doing coke, cutting myself in my dressing room. I was
repeatedly shipped off to rehab or a psychiatric unit, and once taken
out of the SNL offices in a straightjacket.”
Clues Sought In January Death Of Ex-Model Found At Camp Pendleton
The
body of Anneka Di Lorenzo washed up on a San Diego beach in January
with a broken neck and back and authorities are seeking the public’s
help to solve the case. Joggers found the 58-year-old model’s body on
January 4th when it washed up on a restricted portion of Camp Pendleton
beach that Marines use for training. Di Lorenzo’s body was found naked
and her slender frame was mistaken for that of a teenager. Her death is
still a mystery to both her family and federal investigators. The Naval
Criminal Investigative Service is now seeking the public’s help in
closing the case. They’re asking if there’s anyone out there who
remembers Di Lorenzo stopping along Interstate 5. That was where her
parked car was found at a popular scenic overlook. Also known as Anneka
Vasta, Di Lorenzo was the 1975 Penthouse Pet of the Year. She also
achieved some on screen success with the 1979 movie “Caligula.”
Investigators don’t know if Di Lorenzo committed suicide or if her death
was foul play.
Football, ‘Idol’ Have Priciest Commercials
Simon
Cowell might have expected “The X Factor” to equal or surpass “American
Idol” in viewers but the Fox sales department and ad buyers knew
better. Thirty-second spots in “The X Factor” have been selling for
about $320,000 for Wednesday’s performance shows and a little over
$280,000 for what will become the results show on Thursday, according to
Ad Age. The same spots in “Idol” are in the half-million dollar range.
But that still isn’t the priciest commercial on TV. That honor goes to
Sunday Night Football on NBC. Spots in the game are selling for about
$512,000. However, Ad Age points out, “Idol” commercials can climb to
about $600,000 as the show reaches it climactic stages.

Men.” While speaking with TMZ, Sheen revealed that he’s “extremely
disappointed with how they’re handling what I left behind.” Sheen
initially praised his former castmates and their new star, Ashton
Kutcher, after the show’s premiere without him in August, but took a few
jabs at them for their dipping numbers. “People aren’t stupid ... not
all of them,” he said about the show’s declining audience. Sheen noted
that Kutcher is “doing the best he can,” adding “I don’t think the role
is cursed, but I’m extremely disappointed.”
Zsa Zsa Gabor Home From The Hospital
After
about two weeks in the hospital because of a loose tube in her stomach,
Zsa Zsa Gabor is back at home. She also had internal bleeding and an
infection. Her publicist said, “it was touch-and-go this time. Her

Lopez Admits Tears Were And Act
Jennifer
Lopez should win an Oscar for her latest acting gig. Lopez shed
crocodile tears on stage at Mohegan Sun the other night, but it was all
just an act. Lopez told “Access Hollywood” that the tears she cried on
Saturday were all part of her shtick. “After I sang the song, I’m
standing there, and I realized that I did bare a little bit of my
thoughts in this song. I also acted it out, kind of, for the audience.
The way they received it was very touching,” she explained. As we
reported yesterday, the tears came after J.Lo performed “One Love” and
paraded a series of models out on stage that resembled her and her exes.
“I think they felt what I felt, which is, you know, I’m just a girl,
just like everybody else, trying to find my way. I felt like they got
that, and they understood it, and we were all like one at that moment.
It was very, very touching. It kind of overwhelmed me,” Lopez said.
Scientologists Target ‘South Park'
An
episode of “South Park” from 2005 that parodied the Church of
Scientology was so upsetting to leaders of the religious sect that it
secretly investigated the show’s creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone,
according to documents made public yesterday. Private investigators for
the church allegedly staked out the “South Park” offices, rifled through
Stone’s and Parker’s trash, and even tried to recruit a mole to
infiltrate the team, former high-ranking Scientologist Mark Rathburn
says. The goal, according to Rathburnn, was to dig up dirt, which the
church could use to pressure the show into not poking fun at the church.
The Scientology investigators failed to dig up anything juicy enough,
so they set their sights on actors John Stamos and Rebecca Romjin – who
were friends with Parker and Stone. All of this was the result of a
“South Park” episode, “Trapped In A Closet,” depicting Stan Marsh
becoming a Scientologist because it was “fun and free.” On the show, he
was discovered to be the reincarnation of the church’s founder, L. Ron
Hubbard.
Lindsay Lohan’s Nude Playboy Spread
Lindsay
Lohan is shooting nude photos for Playboy, according to TMZ. The
troubled actress will reportedly earn nearly $1 million for taking all
of her clothes off. Sources say the deal has been in the works for
months, and that Lindsay balked at an initial $750,000 offer because she
wanted a million bucks to show the world what her momma gave her.
Playboy came back with more money but less than a million. However, it
was close enough for Lohan to go for it. The shoot started over the
weekend.
Broadway Night On ‘Dancing With the Stars’

following Goodman’s critique of Hope Solo. The remaining seven celebrity
contestants danced to Broadway show tunes and performed a group dance.
Ricki Lake and J.R. Martinez came out on top, with both earning 29
points. Chaz Bono performed the tango to the theme from “The Phantom of
the Opera” and was the night’s lowest scorer with 19 points. Hope Solo
danced a rumba to the song “Seasons of Love” from the musical “Rent” and
earned 20 points. “This is your worst dance of the whole season, in my
opinion. I’m really disappointed,” Goodman said, pointing out that Solo
was leading with her heel. When Solo’s partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy,
said that the audience was focused on the pair’s entire journey, not one
aspect of last night’s performance, Goodman stated that he’d been in
the business for 50 years, only to be cut off by Chmerkovskiy’s
retorting, “Maybe it’s time to get out.” Judge Carrie Ann Inaba
immediately shot back at Maksim, telling him, “Don’t be disrespectful
like that.” Last night’s scores:
Ricki Lake and Derek Hough: 29 | Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke: 22 |
J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff: 29 | Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: 20 |
Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus: 24 | Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer: 19 |
David Arquette and Kym Johnson: 23 |

LiLo Shows Up Early For Morgue Duty
Lindsay
Lohan showed up to the Los Angeles County Morgue at 5:35 a.m. Friday
morning – nearly 90 minutes ahead of her scheduled 7 a.m. community
service starting time. The early arrival was no doubt an attempt not to
repeat last Thursday’s mistake, when Lohan showed up 20 minutes late,
then was turned away, said Coroner Assistant Chief, Ed Winter. Judge
Stephanie Sautner last week ordered the actress to perform janitorial
duty at the morgue twice a week while free on bail until a November 2nd
hearing, when it will be determined if she violated probation in a case
related to a stolen necklace.
Lawsuit Against Ricki Lake Held Up By ‘DWTS’
The
man suing Ricki Lake for allegedly burning down his Malibu home says
that “Dancing with the Stars” is interfering with the suit. Hovsep
Kousouyan claims he can’t get Lake to sit down for a deposition due to
her “Dancing” commitment. His lawyers say they’ve offered eight
different possible dates but that Lake’s lawyers keep saying she’s
unavailable until December. Lake reportedly is fine with doing the
deposition, but she’s been working seven days a week on the show.
Kousouyan filed a lawsuit against Lake saying that she was renting his
house last fall when burned it down while she tried to refill a portable
heater with oil and accidentally spilled it, resulting in the house
burning down.

“Real
Housewives of D.C.” star Michaele Salahi was taken on a Beverly Hills
shopping spree by her rocker boyfriend, Journey guitarist Neal Schon,
who bought her more than $10,000 worth of lingerie. Sources say the
shopping trip was inspired after Michaele’s estranged husband Tareq
Salahi sold off all of Michaele’s underwear and bras at an auction in
early October. Michaele and Neal dropped some serious cash at Rodeo
Drive’s La Perla, spending $10,496.55 on 42 bras and 38 pairs of

Bentley convertible for his new squeeze. He reportedly ordered the car
and had it shipped to San Francisco, near his home in San Rafael.

‘Paranormal Activity 3’ Scares Up Huge Debut
“Paranormal
Activity 3” made a ton of noise at the box office with a record-setting
$54 million opening. The third film in Paramount Pictures’ low-budget
fright franchise, which was No. 1 at the box office, had the biggest
debut ever for a horror movie, according to studio estimates. It broke
the previous record part two set a year ago with $40.7 million. It’s
also the biggest opening ever for an October release, topping the $50.35
million Paramount’s “Jackass 3D” made last year. “Paranormal Activity
3” is actually a prequel, with the discovery of disturbing home-movie
footage from 1988. The first “Paranormal Activity,” with its reported
$15,000 budget, became a phenomenon in 2009 through midnight screenings

Selena Gomez Stalker A Repeat Offender
A
man ordered to stay away from singer/actress Selena Gomez has a history
of stalking, according to authorities in his native Illinois. Gomez has
been granted a restraining order against Thomas Brodnicki after the
46-year-old allegedly told his psychiatrist he was going to kill the
star after having conversations with God about her. The teenager and her
lawyer, Blair Berk, claimed Brodnicki was picked up for mental
evaluation last month after he allegedly threatened to “scratch people’s
eyes out on the street,” and now the full details of his criminal past
have been unveiled. Brodnicki was arrested in 2003 on charges that he
stalked a waitress at a Des Plaines, Illinois, restaurant. He was
eventually convicted in 2008 and sentenced to three years in prison, but
only after he was found unfit to stand trial in 2007 and re-committed
to a mental health facility. Just three months after his sentencing, he
was arrested again in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and charged with
cyberstalking a college student.
Prosecutors Want Lindsay Lohan Back In Jail
Los
Angeles city prosecutors plan to ask a judge to send Lindsay Lohan back
to jail for violating terms of her probation. The judge will review
Lohan’s probation progress today as part of a sentence stemming from
probation in a 2007 drunken driving conviction and a May misdemeanor
theft conviction. The actress rarely appeared at a women’s shelter for
350 hours of required service and never showed up at the coroner’s
office, where she was supposed to do another 120 hours of community
service. She is now seeking to complete the women’s shelter hours at the
American Red Cross. “She was terminated from the women’s center program
for failing to show up. This was one of the terms of her probation. So
we will seek jail time for her,” said a spokesman for the city attorney.
Lohan was ordered in May to have her 480 hours of community service
completed by April 2012. As of last week, she had reportedly completed
21 of 360 hours required at the skid row shelter for women.
Another Man Delays Karina Smirnoff’s Wedding
Turns
out it wasn’t cold feet that led “Dancing With the Stars” pro Karina
Smirnoff to delay her wedding to Detroit Tigers pitcher Brad Penny – it
was another man. The dancer told People magazine she’s focusing on
helping “DWTS” celeb partner J.R. Martinez achieve mirror-ball trophy
glory. Smirnoff said that there wasn’t enough time to focus on both the
wedding and “Dancing” at the same time. Her nuptials had been planned
for January 21st. She said once “DWTS” is over, “we’re going to
concentrate on the rest of our life.”

Ex ‘Hills’ Staffer Sues MTV
A
former staffer for the MTV reality series “The Hills” has sued the
network, claiming she had been sexually harassed, was pressured to smoke
drugs, was denied meal and rest breaks, and finally was denied overtime
and other pay. Eliza Sproul’s lawsuit says the problems began during a
May 2010 trip to film the series in Costa Rica. The suit also claims
that, during the trip, “Ms. Sproul was sexually harassed and knowingly
placed in dangerous situations that endangered her safety.” Sproul says
that she was paired with local resident, Andres, whom MTV had hired, and
Andres immediately set to hitting on her and pressuring her to smoke
marijuana with him. Worse, according to the suit, the crew members
showed no sympathy for her plight. MTV isn’t talking.
Hef’s Ex Sells Engagement Ring
Hugh
Hefner’s ex Crystal Harris, who ran off and broke the engagement right
before they were to be married, has sold the engagement ring for a
drastically reduced price. While Hefner reportedly paid $90,000 for the

morning at Christie’s in New York paid just $38,000. With taxes and
fees, the new owner is going to pay $47,500 for the ring.
Shia LaBeouf In Bar Fight
Shia
LaBeouf got into a fight outside a club on Granville Street last week
and was repeatedly punched in the head by a hairy, shirtless man. It’s
not exactly clear what provoked the attack but LaBeouf had gotten into
it with another man inside the Cinema Public House. Security kicked both
parties out and that’s when the other man tore his shirt off and
started beating the actor. After the fight, LaBeouf tried chasing the
man, but his friends held him back and told him to “lay low.” TMZ has
video footage of the fight, which shows LaBeouf lying on the ground
while being punched by the man. Police said they haven’t had any
complaints or reports about a fight outside the club. The actor is in
Vancouver shooting the new movie “The Company You Keep.”
Lemony Snicket Occupies Movement
A
large group of authors including Lemon Snicket (aka Daniel Handler)
have issued a show of support for the demonstrators at Occupy Wall
Street. At the OccupyWriters website (http://occupywriters.com),
you can see a list of the supporters, and read some original
commentary. The offering from Snicket-Handler, famous for the “Series of
Unfortunate Events” series, managed to be funny and ominous at the same
time, writing:
- “People who say money doesn’t matter are like people who say cake doesn’t matter – it’s probably because they’ve already had a few slices.”
-
“It is not always the job of people shouting outside impressive
buildings to solve problems. It is often the job of the people inside,
who have paper, pens, desks, and an impressive view.”
-
“Historically, a story about people inside impressive buildings
ignoring or even taunting people standing outside shouting at them
turns out to be a story with an unhappy ending.”
Carson Kressley Booted Off ‘Dancing With The Stars’
Carson
Kressley was booted off of “Dancing With the Stars” last night. It
wasn’t much of a surprise – the judges had given him the lowest scores
for his 1980s-themed routine a night earlier. Kressley had dressed in a
cheerleader’s outfit for his routine with pro partner, Anna Trebunskaya.
“This has been pure joy for me,” he said after learning he’d been axed.
Host Tom Bergeron said that the worst “injustice” was that the “Queer
Eye” fashion guru was booted off one week shy of Broadway week.
Remaining contestants are actor J.R. Martinez, reality TV personality
Rob Kardashian, actor David Arquette, soccer star Hope Solo, activist
Chaz Bono and TV hosts Ricki Lake and Nancy Grace.

was arrested early yesterday morning on suspicion of DUI, according to
police. With a blood-alcohol level “well over” the legal limit of .08,
Burbank, California, Sgt. Sean Kelly said Musso “drove through [an]
intersection and failed to do what [an] officer instructed him to do.”
Because Musso, 20, is not of legal drinking age, Kelly said any alcohol
in his body would be considered illegal. Musso, who was pulled over in
his black 2007 Mercedes Benz at the time of his arrest, posted $5,000
bail and was released from jail.

Seagal’s work with the department has nothing to do with his A&E
reality show, “Steven Seagal: Lawman.”
Susan Sarandon In Hot Water For Referring To Pope As Nazi
The
Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is asking actress Susan Sarandon to
apologize to the Catholic Community and “all those she may have
offended” when she referred to Pope Benedict XVI as a “Nazi” at the
Hamptons Film Festival this weekend. Sarandon told actor Bob Balaban in
an interview on Saturday that she had sent the Pope a copy of the anti
death penalty book, “Dead Man Walking.” She starred in the 1995 film
adaptation of the book. Clarifying which Pope received her package,
Sarandon said, “The last one, not this Nazi one we have now.” Balaban
tried to dance around the comment, but Sarandon just made it again,
according to reports. The audience also laughed. The ADL said Sarandon’s
comment was “disturbing, deeply offensive and completely uncalled for
attack on the good name of Pope Benedict XVI.” The Pope’s PR people
acknowledged that Benedict was a member of the Hitler Youth as a boy, a
requirement at the time for German boys his age – but the rep insists he
had no “active participation” in the group.
ABC News Anchor Comes Out
An
“ABC World News Now” reporter had a “coming out” moment on live TV
yesterday morning, revealing his sexuality during a report about Zachary
Quinto. With the words, “Spock Is Out” written across the screen,
anchor Dan Kloeffler cracked a joke about wanting to date the “Star
Trek” actor – the first time he ever revealed his sexual orientation in
public. The newsman blogged later, “I’ve never shared that I’m gay on
air, even though I’ve been out to my family ... but for the same reason
that Zach decided to come out, I too, no longer wanted to hide that part
of my life.”

meaningful to have so many friends on hand to celebrate his mother’s
spirit. The Academy Award-winning star of “Butterfield 8” and “Who’s
Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” was 79 when she died on March 23rd of
congestive heart failure in Los Angeles. Farrell hosted the service,
which featured memories of the violet-eyed beauty.
Accused Halle Berry Stalker Ordered To Stand Trial
A
judge ruled yesterday that a man charged with stalking Halle Berry
should stand trial on two charges filed after he was repeatedly seen on
the actress’ property earlier this year. Los Angeles Superior Court
Judge Melissa Widdifield issued her ruling after hearing from two
witnesses called during a preliminary hearing to show evidence against
Richard A. Franco, who has pleaded not guilty to burglary and stalking
charges. He was charged after police arrested him outside Berry’s home
in July after he was seen on the property three times in three days.
Franco will remain jailed on $150,000 bail. He returns to court on
October 31st for arraignment.

star Nikki Reed and her boyfriend, “American Idol” contestant Paul
McDonald, tied the knot over the weekend. The pair have been dating

were both spotted wearing matching rings. A source close to the couple
confirmed, however, that the rings were not their wedding bands. Reed
and McDonald first met while attending the premiere of “Red Riding Hood”
and their first meeting is included as part of special that shows the
“Idol” contestants at the film premiere.

‘Harry Potter’ Villain Busted With Bomb
A
“Harry Potter” actor was charged last month with having a Molotov
cocktail – a crude gasoline bomb – stemming from his alleged involvement
in this summer’s England riots. Jamie Waylett, who played Draco
Malfoy’s sidekick Vincent Crabbe in six Harry Potter films, is facing a
slew of charges stemming from his alleged involvement in the riots.
Authorities allege the 22-year-old Waylett armed himself on August 8th
with a Molotov cocktail with intent to destroy or damage property during
the melee that made worldwide headlines and led to the arrest of more
than 3,000 people. Police also discovered 15 marijuana plants in his
bedroom – a big no-no considering the actor was busted for growing
marijuana in 2009. Waylett’s previous run-in with the law was part of
the reason his character was written out of “Harry Potter and the
Deathly Hallows Part 2.” Waylett was eventually released on bail; he’s
due back in court on November 11th.
Lindsay Lohan Booted From Community Service Program
Lindsay
Lohan has reportedly been kicked out of the program where she was
supposed to complete her community service because she violated the
rules numerous times. Judge Stephanie Sautner ordered Lohan to serve 360
hours at the Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles, as part of her
probation in the shoplifting case. As part of the deal, the judge
required her to be reliable, non-disruptive, and serve at least 4 hours
at a time. But sources tell TMZ Lindsay blew off nine scheduled visits
and when she did show up, she would often bail after working there for
only an hour. She was terminated from the Women’s Center because of the
violations two weeks ago. The Probation Department’s volunteer center
has now assigned her to a new community service program at the Red
Cross.

Studio Won’t Release ‘Tower Heist’ Early For Rent
Universal
Pictures has dropped plans to release “Tower Heist” for home rental
three weeks after it opens in theaters next month. The action-comedy
stars Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller. The studio’s decision comes after
some theaters had threatened to boycott the movie. Theater managers had
said early availability of video-on-demand films at home might mean
people will skip seeing it in theaters. There’s usually a window of
three to four months between a studio film’s release in theaters and
when it’s available to watch at home. But looking to make up for
declining DVD revenue, studios have been experimenting with narrower
windows to see how much people might be willing to pay to see movies at
home earlier. Universal had planned to charge $60 to rent “Tower Heist.”
‘Sesame Street’ Launches Anti-Bullying Campaign
Big
Bird’s problems getting into “The Good Birds Club” are at the center of

Fonzie’s ‘Happy Days’ Motorcycle To Be Sold At Auction
The
1949 Triumph Trophy TR5 ridden by The Fonz (Henry Winkler) in “Happy
Days” is up for auction, and experts say it could fetch more than
$90,000. The bike has reportedly been sitting unused for 15 years in a
motorcycle shop, having been bought by someone who didn’t know its
pedigree. The bike needs a bit of work before it can be ridden; no one
has used it since “Happy Days” ended in 1984. “The bike in its present
condition couldn’t pull the skin of a rice pudding,” said Nick Smith,
auctioneer at Bonhams. “It has an unknown mileage because the speedo is
broken and it hasn’t worked in years.” The motorcycle will be auctioned
November 12th in Los Angeles.
SWAT Team Raids Pitt’s ‘World War Z’ Warehouse
A
SWAT team raided a Budapest warehouse holding weapons being used in
Brad Pitt’s upcoming zombie movie “World War Z” on Monday. “The film is
already over budget and over schedule,” a source tells Us Weekly. “Brad
is furious.” Police seized 85 fully-functional weapons, most of which
were automatic, military-style assault rifles. The problem, a source
says, is that the guns came with paperwork claiming they were
non-functional – but they’re actually in working order. Hajdu Janos and
Zsolt Bodnar, the director and deputy director of Hungary’s
Anti-Terrorism Unit, told Us Weekly: “Guns like these are highly illegal
to transport even if they were used as stage guns, which hopefully they
weren’t.” Before filming in Budapest, “World War Z” was shooting in
Glasgow, Scotland. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters in December
2012.
CBS Cancels ‘How To Be A Gentleman’
CBS
has officially pulled the plug on its new comedy series “How to be A
Gentleman.” The series, starring Kevin Dillon and David Hornsby, moved
to Saturday nights following “Two and Half Men” last week and was
canceled the following day. The network has confirmed that it will run
the remaining seven episodes of “How to be A Gentleman” at its new time
of 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays but production on new episodes has ceased. The
show filled in the position held by “$#*! My Dad Says” last year but
started off low in the ratings and has continued to fall. “Rules of
Engagement” will fill in the Thursday night spot previously held by “How
to be A Gentleman” starting on October 20th.
Shirley MacLaine To Receive AFI Achievement Award
Shirley
MacLaine has been announced as the 40th winner of the American Film
Institute Lifetime Achievement Award. The 77-year-old actress is being
recognized for her body of work, which began with her 1955 debut in
Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Trouble With Harry” and which includes over 50
feature films, seven Golden Globe Awards, and six Oscar nominations,
including a win for her role in 1983’s “Terms of Endearment.” The
tribute to MacLaine will be held on June 7, 2012, and will be broadcast
on TV Land later that month.
‘DWTS’ Guest Lineup
Blake
Shelton will join a list of guest performers on tonight’s episode of
“Dancing With the Stars.” He will sing the theme from the new
“Footloose” movie. Julianne Hough and her co-star from the film, Kenny
Wormald, will also visit the show, dancing to “Holding Out for a Hero”
and then join Shelton for “Footloose.” Just before the week’s results
are announced, Julianne will join her brother, Derek Hough, and dance a
jive to “Shake a Tail Feather.” There are other musical guests,
including Susan Boyle, who will sing “Unchained Melody,” and Raphael
Saadiq doing “Soul Man.”
Kristin Davis Adopts Infant
Taking
a cue from her character Charlotte in “Sex and the City,” Kristin Davis
has adopted an infant girl. She’s named her Gemma Rose Davis. Davis
says it “is something I have wanted for a very long time. Having this
wish come true is even more gratifying than I ever had imagined.”
Steve Jobs Movie
First
Mark Zuckerberg got the feature film treatment. Now it is Steve Jobs’
turn. The same studio that made “The Social Network” is in final talks
for the rights that will lead to a film about Jobs. According to a
person familiar with this, Sony Pictures is negotiating to pay about $1
million for the rights to the project. A movie would be based on the
authorized biography of Jobs by Walter Isaacson, which hasn’t even come
out yet. When Jobs died last week, the publisher moved up the release
date of the book by a month to October 24th.
Hank Jr. Writes Song About ‘Fox & Friends,’ ESPN
In
the aftermath of his split with ESPN’s Monday Night Football, Hank
Williams Jr. has written a song criticizing “Fox & Friends” – and
returning to Fox today for an appearance on “Hannity.” He will also
appear on ABC’s “The View” today. The controversy began last week during
an interview on “Fox & Friends” in which Williams compared
President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner playing golf together to
Adolf Hitler playing golf with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu. ESPN yanked Williams’ “are you ready for some football”
introduction to its Monday Night Football telecasts. Now Williams has
recorded “Keep the Change,” whose lyrics “Fox & Friends” twisted his
words: “So Fox ‘n Friends wanna put me down/Ask for my opinion/Twist it
all around.” He finishes the verse: “Well two can play that gotcha game
you’ll see.” Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar of “The View” are among
those who have defended Williams’ right of freedom of speech. Williams
said, “After watching the clip of their show, I knew I needed to talk to
them first.” He posted “Keep the Change” on his website and is offering
it as a free download for 48 hours.
Dancing With The Stars’ Week 4
The
nine remaining “Dancing With the Stars” competitors took the floor to
perform to movie scores last night. Ricki Lake continued her domination
of the ballroom, landing the first 10 scores of the season. Lake and
partner Derek Hough tangoed to the theme from “Psycho,” earning a long
standing ovation and praise from the judges. They scored a 29 out of 30.
Carson Kressley landed at the bottom of the leader board with 20. He
and partner Anna Trebunskaya danced a crowd-pleasing Viennese waltz to
“The Curse of the Black Pearl” from “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Donny
Osmond, Dr. Phil, Cher, Courteney Cox, Billy Baldwin and Kris and Bruce
Jenner were all in the audience, cheering their family and favorites.
The leaderboard rankings for Week 4:

Hank Jr.’s MNF Role Temporarily Filled
Hank
Williams Jr.’s opening segment for ESPN’s Monday Night Football
telecast will be initially filled by former Detroit Lions running back
Barry Sanders and Detroit-based soul singer Jimmy Scott and the Selected
of God gospel choir. Williams and ESPN parted ways last week after he
made derogatory comments about President Obama during an interview on
Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.” To open tonight’s game between the
Chicago Bears and the Lions at Detroit’s Ford Field, Sanders will
provide narration and Scott and the choir will perform “Ain’t No Love in
the Heart of the City,” a song popularized by Bobby “Blue” Bland in the
‘70s. An ESPN spokesperson said the video is not intended to be a
replacement for Williams’ famous “Are you ready for some football?”
featured on “Monday Night Football” since 1989; he said the “spot will
look different every week.”
Clint Eastwood In Talks To Star In New Baseball Drama
Clint
Eastwood may soon be returning to the big screen, this time in front of
the camera, not behind it. The 81-year-old, who hasn’t appeared in
front of the camera since 2008’s “Gran Torino,” is in talks to appear in
“Trouble With the Curve,” an upcoming baseball drama, as a veteran
scout with eyesight troubles who talks his daughter into going on the
road with him. If Eastwood agrees to star in “Trouble With the Curve,”
it would mark his first time appearing onscreen for a director other
than himself since 1993’s “In the Line of Fire.”
Johnny Depp Eyeing Role In Dr. Seuss Biopic
Johnny
Depp may be starring in the lead role of an upcoming Dr. Seuss biopic.
Depp, whose production company is developing a live-action film about
the “Green Eggs and Ham” author’s life, has left the option to play
Seuss open in his talks with the studio. Depp is currently filming an
adaptation of the 1960s supernatural soap opera “Dark Shadows” and will
be appearing in an adaptation of Dashiell Hammett’s “The Thin Man.”
Redmond O’Neal Has State of the Art Monitoring Bracelet Attached
Redmond
O’Neal, Ryan O’Neal’s 26-year-old son, had his sentencing last week for
a probation violation and was fitted with a GPS monitoring bracelet.
Redmond’s probation had been revoked in September when he snuck out of
rehab and ordered drugs from a payphone. Now the judge has sent him back
to rehab, with a GPS bracelet. It includes real-time cameras that take a
snapshot of Redmond’s location every five minutes. If he steps outside
the designated area, an alarm goes off. Redmond was sentenced to a year
in rehab back in August. He faces up to six years in prison if he messes
up again.
Zsa Zsa Undergoes Surgery
Zsa
Zsa Gabor had surgery yesterday to reattach a feeding tube to her
stomach after being hospitalized in Los Angeles a day earlier. The
94-year-old actress was doing well, a spokesman said. Spokesman John
Blanchette said it looked like Gabor would recover after being rushed to
the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center on Saturday when she fell
unconscious at home. She was experiencing a high fever and suffered some
internal bleeding. Gabor has been hospitalized numerous times since
July 2010, when she fell out of bed and broke her hip. She later
underwent hip replacement surgery, which led to a further stay in the
hospital. She had a leg amputated in January.
Fox Renews ‘Simpsons’ For 2 Years
“The
Simpsons” were renewed Friday for two more seasons. The popular show
was facing the axe by Fox due to a pay dispute between the network and
the six main cast members who were refusing to take the 45% pay cut the
network wanted them to, which would almost halved their $8 million
season payout. Although terms of the deal has not been revealed, it is
believed to involve the actors receiving a cut of the profits made from
the massive amount of merchandise sold in relation to the show. The
Simpsons will now be guaranteed a 24th and 25th season before another
review is carried out. Earlier Friday, Harry Shearer released a
statement saying, “We’ve had a great run and no one should feel sorry
for any of us.” Shearer admitted that his salary was “ridiculous by any
normal standard,” and added “But given how much joy the show has given
so many people over the years – and given how many billions of dollars
in profits News Corp. has earned and will earn from it – I find it hard
to believe that this is Fox’s final word on the subject.”
John Wayne Auction Brings In $5.3 Million
An
auction of the late John Wayne’s personal property in Los Angeles
brought in $5.3 million. More than 700 costumes, scripts, awards and
memorabilia were sold to more than 2,600 John Wayne fans during the
two-day auction hosted by Heritage Auctions and John Wayne Enterprises.
Top items in the auction, held October 6-7, included a green wool beret
Wayne wore in the film “The Green Berets,” which sold for $179,250, a
Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his role in the film “True Grit,”
which brought in $143,400, and a cowboy hat Wayne wore in both “Big
Jake” and “The Cowboys” that went for $119,500. A portion of the money
will be allocated to cancer research through the John Wayne Cancer
Foundation. Wayne died of cancer in 1979.
Joe Francis Loses $2 Million Gambling Debt Case
“Girls
Gone Wild” founder Joe Francis has lost a case in the Nevada Supreme
Court over $2 million owed to the Wynn Las Vegas casino. The high court
ruled that a lower court was right to grant summary judgment favoring
the casino because Francis abused his constitutional rights by
repeatedly invoking the Fifth Amendment at a deposition during
questioning from Wynn lawyers, even on questions like whether he was
married or if his father was alive. Francis had believed he was off the
hook for the $2 million marker in September when a Las Vegas district
court judge threw out the case, saying the Wynn casino waited too long
to collect the funds from Francis. But Thursday’s ruling puts him $2
million in the hole with the Wynn.
Demi Moore Consults With Divorce Lawyer?
Demi
Moore has reportedly consulted with a divorce attorney amid allegations
her husband Ashton Kutcher cheated on her. Moore, 48, and Kutcher, 33,
recently celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary – around the same
time rumors swirled of an alleged affair between Kutcher and 23-year-old
Sara Leal. According to the Daily Mail, Moore met with an attorney on
Friday. Neither star has released a statement about the status of their
relationship, leaving tabloids speculating about the possible demise of
the couple’s marriage.
Limo Company Sues Lohan
A
California limousine company is suing Lindsay Lohan over a $90,000 bill
she allegedly racked up in 2009. Elite Transportation Limo and Security
Services claims the actress hired them at a rate of $6,000 an hour,
which also includes bodyguard services, for herself and various friends
and family. Elite said the actual bill was just under $34,000, but
penalties and late fees pushed the total to nearly six figures. Lohan
probably won’t be requiring the services of Elite or any other limo any
time soon. She recently bought herself a new Porsche from a Los Angeles
showroom for about $80,000.

Tareq Salahi Selling Bathrobes Stolen By Wife
Tareq
Salahi plans on selling millions of dollars worth of his belongings,
including his wedding ring, artwork, and over 50 bathrobes that he
claims his wife Michaele Salahi stole from hotels. The auction will
commence this Saturday on the website 9021go.com.
Tareq hopes selling the items “will help bring closure to this
ridiculous situation I am in.” Talking about his wife’s sticky fingers,
Tareq said, “As soon as we arrived [at the hotels], Michaele would call
housekeeping and demand a bath gown saying that there was one missing.
So when we checked out we would not be charged for taking it. Looking
back I now realize this is indicative of our relationship together, full
of deceit, lies ... and bathrobes.” All the proceeds will go to
charity.
Lifetime Adds Epilogue To Knox TV Movie
Lifetime
has updated its TV movie “Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy” to
reflect Knox’s release from an Italian prison Monday after four years.
Knox, a 24-year-old Washington State woman, was convicted of killing her
British roommate in Italy where both were students in 2007. She
appealed the conviction and won her freedom this week. An epilogue
regarding the latest development in the sensational case appeared when
the movie re-aired last night. The movie, starring “ Hayden Panettiere
as Knox, premiered last February.
Francos’ Dad Dies
Doug
Franco, the businessman father of actors James and Dave Franco, has
died. He was 63. The cause, time and place of his death were not
immediately disclosed. “It is true that my sweet, generous husband
passed away. He gave so much to his three sons and me, and to many other
people, too,” Doug’s wife, writer and actress Betsy Franco, said via
Twitter. Proud parents Doug and Betsy attended the Oscars this year to
cheer on James, who was the event’s host, as well as a nominee for his
acting work in “127 Hours.”
Nancy Grace Says Amanda Knox Decision Is ‘Miscarriage of Justice’
Nancy
Grace doesn’t see an innocent young woman in Amanda Knox, who was tried
and convicted of the 2007 murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher and
then set free Monday after a successful appeal. “I think that it was a
miscarriage of justice,” Grace told People magazine night after
performing a waltz on “Dancing with the Stars.” “I only hope that Ms.
Knox makes something of her life now because she’s certainly been given a
second chance.” She added, “Very few people are given the chance that
she has been given today.” Knox, a University of Washington student who
had been studying in Perugia, Italy, had faced a sentence of 26 years in
prison, but the appeals court overturned the most serious charges. She
returned to Seattle yesterday.
Hungry Muppet To Appear On ‘Sesame Street’
A
new poverty-stricken Muppet will highlight the issue of hunger on an
episode of “Sesame Street.” Pink-faced Muppet Lily, whose family deals
with food insecurity, will join Big Bird, Elmo and others on a one-hour
primetime special featuring Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly Williams
Paisley called “Growing Hope Against Hunger,” set to air October 9th.
The new Muppet will bring awareness to the ongoing hunger struggles that
families face in the United States. “Food insecurity is a growing and
difficult issue for adults to discuss, much less children,” the Paisleys
said in a statement. The special will see children tell personal
stories of their families struggling with hunger, and will also show how
some families find innovative and community-driven solutions, including
food drives and assistance programs.
Fox Says Can’t Afford More ‘Simpsons’ Without Cuts
Fox
says it can no longer afford to produce “The Simpsons” without a huge
pay cut for its cast. Fox issued a statement after a report by the Daily
Beast said the network had threatened to end the series unless the
voice actors take a 45% pay cut. “We believe this brilliant series can
and should continue, but we cannot produce future seasons under its
current financial model,” Fox said. “We are hopeful that we can reach an
agreement with the voice cast that allows ‘The Simpsons’ to go on
entertaining audiences with original episodes for many years to come.”
“The Simpsons,” currently in its 23rd season, is the longest-running
comedy series on television. The Daily Beast said the principal voice
cast members were having difficulty renegotiating contracts that
currently see them earning around $8 million each per season. An insider
said the cast had tried unsuccessfully to negotiate a 30% pay cut in
return for a portion of the show’s profits.
DiCaprio Named Ambassador For International Fund For Animal Welfare
Leonardo
DiCaprio is heading a campaign to shut down ivory trading. The
International Fund for Animal Welfare is organizing the effort. The
campaign, launched this week as part of an annual international
education program, is targeting seven million teachers, students and
their families in more than 15 countries. DiCaprio serves as the global
ambassador for the program, which highlights a different animal and
conservation theme each year. This year the campaign’s theme is
“Elephants, Never Forget,” and focuses on the crisis that elephants face
20 years after the enactment of an international ban on ivory trading.
“Authorities in 85 countries have seized almost 400 tons of ivory on the
black market since the 1989 ivory trade ban,” DiCaprio said. “In the
past century, the number of elephants in the wild has declined by 50
percent. Their disappearance could devastate ecosystems and have a
lasting impact on the biodiversity of our planet.” For more info on the
elephant slaughter, the illegal ivory trade and how you can help, go to www.ifaw.org.
Blake Lively, Leonardo DiCaprio Split
After
five months together, Blake Lively and Leonardo DiCaprio have parted
ways, reps for both stars confirmed to Us Weekly. The pair “remain
friends,” the reps added. Weeks before he and Lively became an item,
DiCaprio and model Bar Refaeli called it quits on their on-and-off,
five-year relationship. Lively and “Gossip Girl” costar Penn Badgley
ended their three-year romance in October 2010.
Hank Williams Jr. Issues Apology
Hank
Williams Jr. issued an apology yesterday, one day after ESPN pulled his
introductory song for “Monday Night Football” after he used an analogy
involving Adolph Hitler and President Obama to make a political point.
In a statement posted on Facebook and his website, Hank Jr. said that
his passion for politics and sports “got the best or worst of me.” In an
interview Monday on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends,” Williams compared a
golf match between President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner, who
is a Republican, to “Hitler playing golf with [Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin] Netanyahu.” He then proclaimed Obama and Joe Biden as “the
enemy.” “The thought of the leaders of both parties jukin and high fiven
on a golf course while so many families are struggling to get by simply
made me boil over and make a dumb statement,” Williams said yesterday.
“I am very sorry if it offended anyone.” ESPN had no comment on whether
Williams’ song would be used on future telecasts.
‘Nemo,’ ‘Little Mermaid’ Swim Back To Big Screen In 3D
Hot
on the heels of the box office success of “The Lion King 3D,” Disney
and Pixar are reviving four of their classic animated films in 3D
versions. Banking on the success of “The Lion King 3D,” which is set to
cross the $80 million U.S. box office threshold, the studio said it
would release a 3D version of the 1991 fairytale “Beauty and the Beast”
in January 2012 for a limited run in movie theaters. It will be followed
by Pixar’s sea-adventure “Finding Nemo” in September 2012, “Monsters,
Inc.” in January 2013, and the classic 1989 Disney romance “The Little
Mermaid” in September 2013.
NBC Cancels ‘The Playboy Club’
NBC
has canceled “The Playboy Club” after only three episodes. “The Playboy
Club” premiered to low ratings and then dropped for each of its three
subsequent telecasts, with Monday night attracting only 3.4 million
viewers. It’s the first cancellation of the new fall TV season. Despite
having relatively tame content, the show wasn’t helped by the
conservative group Parents Television Council, who vehemently protested
the show. The PTC released a statement saying they were pleased with the
cancellation. NBC will fill the Monday night slot with repeats of new
police drama, “Prime Suspect,” until Brian Williams’ new primetime
newsmagazine, “Rock Center,” takes over on Halloween night.
Rachel Uchitel Marries

Tiger Woods mistress Rachel Uchitel married her boyfriend in a secret
ceremony in Nevada. TMZ obtained documents from Clark County, Nevada,
showing that Uchitel and Matt Hahn obtained a marriage license Sunday
night and filed it the next morning. Hahn, 26, is a San Francisco
businessman and former Penn State football player. Uchitel, 36, launched
her career as a private detective in March. The couple has reportedly
been living together in San Francisco for several months. Uchitel was
the first of Woods’ mistresses to expose his numerous affairs in 2009,
leading to his divorce from wife Elin Nordegren in August 2010.
