Sean Penn Enters Falkland Islands Dispute
Sean Penn is now taking his interest in global affairs to Argentina. He’s taking that country’s side in the Falkland Islands dispute. After meeting with Argentine President Cristina Kirchner, Penn urged Britain to join U.N.-sponsored talks over the islands. Britain is increasing its military defenses ahead of the 30th anniversary of Argentina’s failed effort to seize the Falkland Islands. Penn calls that a “ludicrous and archaic commitment to colonialist ideology.”
