Alec
Baldwin was booted from an American Airlines flight yesterday for
playing games. “Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing
WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving,” the actor tweeted
after the incident. The “30 Rock” star added a hashtag saying it was
“no wonder” the airline recently declared bankruptcy. “But, oddly, 30
Rock plays in-flight on American,” he said in a later tweet, this time
promoting the airline United with the hashtag “#theresalwaysunited.” It
all started when a flight staffer scolded Baldwin for playing the
Scrabble-like game on his iPad while the airplane was parked at the
gate. The actor later got up from his seat and demanded the attendant’s
name so he could file a complaint – and the conflict escalated. “Alec
loves Words with Friends so much that he was willing to leave a plane
for it,” his spokesman said in a statement. Baldwin was rebooked on
another American flight. The airline used its corporate Twitter feed to
promise it was “looking into” the matter and request that Baldwin send a
private message with his contact information.
