Shirley
MacLaine has been announced as the 40th winner of the American Film
Institute Lifetime Achievement Award. The 77-year-old actress is being
recognized for her body of work, which began with her 1955 debut in
Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Trouble With Harry” and which includes over 50
feature films, seven Golden Globe Awards, and six Oscar nominations,
including a win for her role in 1983’s “Terms of Endearment.” The
tribute to MacLaine will be held on June 7, 2012, and will be broadcast
on TV Land later that month.
