Stephen
King’s “The Dark Tower” may find a home on HBO after being dropped by
Universal. Brian Grazer – who is producing the miniseries as both a
movie and companion TV series with Ron Howard – said the network was
looking at picking up the mini-series. Grazer also clarified that,
though planned star Javier Bardem’s schedule dictates that he must begin
work on another project before beginning work on “The Dark Tower,” he
will still appear in the lead as Roland Deshain. The film and miniseries
were slated for release in 2013, however, in July Universal Pictures
dropped the project due to budgetary concerns.
