The
state of Iowa is suing a producer of the 2009 TV movie version of
“Children of the Corn.” The movie was made there and the state gave it
tax credits as an incentive. Iowa’s attorney general is charging Donald
Borchers with first-degree theft and fraudulent practices. He’s accused
of submitting inflated cost claims and accepted state tax credits based
on inflated expense claims. Borchers declined to comment on the charges.
