Walt Disney is trading princess pink for “goth” black in its efforts to appeal to the 12- to 22-year-old female fans of Hot Topics stores. The company has created a licensed apparel line for the retailer’s 680 stores that’s tied to the March 5th release of Tim Burton’s darker version of “Alice in Wonderland.” The soundtrack album features goth icon Robert Smith, lead singer of the Cure, performing a song from Disney’s 1951 “Alice in Wonderland.”
