James Farentino Died From Broken Hip
Veteran actor James Farentino died as a result of a broken hip, a Los Angeles coroner has ruled. Farentino was suspected to have died of heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on January 24th, but the star’s cause of death has now been listed as “sequelae of right hip fracture” – an injury he sustained after falling out of bed at his California home in December. The fractured hip wasn’t 73-year-old Farentino’s only health problem – he also suffered from heart disease, diabetes and COPD.

Clint Eastwood is being honored by the Smithsonian in Washington for his six decades of work. They’ve giving him a medal for all he’s done in Hollywood. The National Museum of American History has a new movie theater dedicated to film history. Harry Potter’s robe and other memorabilia, including some of Eastwood’s, will be on display in the theater.

Kevin Bacon To Do Serial Killer TV Show
Kevin Bacon has taken the lead role in a planned TV series by “Scream” and “The Vampire Diaries” writer Kevin Williamson. Deadline reports that the pilot, produced under FOX, will see Bacon play an FBI profiler who finds himself in the middle of an investigation involving a cult of serial killers. The as-yet unnamed series will have a 15-episode season if it does go to series.

Two-time Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks is set to be a presenter at the 84th Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles. Hanks, who is a governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, won consecutive Oscars in 1993 and 1994 for his lead performances in “Philadelphia” and “Forrest Gump.” He was also nominated for his leading roles in “Big,” “Saving Private Ryan” and “Cast Away.” He can currently be seen in the Best Picture Oscar contender “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close.” The Academy Awards will be presented February 26th on ABC.

Justin Timberlake Joins Clint Eastwood In New Movie
Justin Timberlake is set to star alongside Clint Eastwood in a new baseball movie called “Trouble With the Curve.” Amy Adams also will star in the film, which revolves around an aging baseball scout (played by Eastwood) who goes on a road trip to Atlanta with his daughter (Adams) to check out a potential recruit. Timberlake is set to play Eastwood’s friend, Johnny Flanagan, a former baseball player himself who is now a Yankees talent scout. Before Timberlake hits the set for that project, he’ll first star in the next Coen Brothers movie, “Inside Llewyn Davis,” which takes place during the Folk movement in New York City in the 1960s.

Paul Brittain has left “Saturday Night Live.” The comedian’s departure was announced abruptly and takes effect immediately, with Brittain leaving before this week’s upcoming episode with host Channing Tatum. According to Entertainment Weekly, a source close to the show noted that the actor’s departure from the show was “friendly:” “[He] had the opportunity to pursue other projects, and he and the show parted ways amicably.” Brittain, the nephew of comedian Bob Newhart, joined the show at the beginning of its 36th season in September 2010 and was known for playing characters including “Sex” Ed Vincent, Goran “Funky Boy” Bogdan, and Lord Wyndemere, as well as for his impersonations of James Franco, Ron Paul and Johnny Depp.

Matthew Broderick has made headlines in recent weeks with the release of his new Honda ad inspired by his classic film “Ferris Beuller’s Day Off.” The ad has gone viral across the web but, according to Broderick, he was initially ambivalent about the project. While speaking with the New York blog Vulture, Broderick said he nearly passed up the opportunity, but “ended up thinking it might be amusing.” “It took a little, uh, thinking about it. It took a little time,” Broderick tells the blog. “I thought it would be fun to set up Ferris Bueller a little bit ... I guess I’m part of a virus.” He also revealed that one deciding factor for making the ad was the involvement of “The Hangover” director Todd Phillips. Broderick said Phillips is a “good director” and he was excited to work on the two-and-half-minute ad with him.

Former “Home Improvement” co-star Taran Noah Smith was arrested in Los Angeles for allegedly driving under the influence and possession of marijuana, TMZ said. Smith, 27, appeared on the sitcom from 1991 to 1999. After the show wrapped, Smith gave up acting and has owned a food manufacturer and restaurant specializing in vegan and organic foods since 2005. Smith was arrested early yesterday after police saw his car parked haphazardly in front of a fire hydrant, and then detected the smell of marijuana when they stopped him.

Tracy Morgan’s estranged mom is facing foreclosure on her home after failing to make $25,000 in mortgage payments. Alicia Warden, 61, lost her job in Ohio last year and has since fallen on hard times. The “30 Rock” star’s sister, Asia Morgan, has called on her famous brother to step in and help after the bank moved to reclaim their mother’s house. According to Asia, the funnyman offered to give Warden a one-time payment of $2,000 earlier this month, but she turned down the meager sum out of embarrassment.

Hoboken Mayor Denies Film Permit For ‘Jersey Shore’ Spin-Off
Snooki and JWoww will be having a “Jersey Shore” spin-off show in the future, and the plan was for it to be taped in Hoboken, New Jersey. But the Mayor of Hoboken, Dawn Zimmer, announced that they would be denied a film permit. Zimmer stated on her website that the Hoboken Film Commission unanimously voted to deny the permit to 495 Productions “based on protecting public safety and quality of life concerns for Hoboken residents.” Mayor Zimmer claims the show would result in an “unacceptable lessening of the quality of life for the local residents and businesses” – causing traffic, creating large noisy crowds and disrupting day-to-day life.

David Hasselhoff has shot down new reports he’s engaged to his longtime girlfriend. Inmate Sues Lillo Brancato For Assault
A lawsuit has been filed in New York’s Queens Supreme Court accusing jailed actor Lillo Brancato of assaulting a former fellow inmate. Alvaro Hernandez, a 40-year-old convicted burglar, is seeking unspecified damages for injuries allegedly sustained when Brancato beat him up for not getting off the phone fast enough last January at the now-closed Oneida Correctional Facility in Rome, New York. Hernandez’s lawyer called the attack a “brutal assault, sudden and painful.” The actor lost phone and commissary privileges and was confined to his cell for 23 hours a day for a month after an investigation into the complaint. Brancato was transferred to the state prison in Hudson and Hernandez to the facility in Coxsackie when the Oneida jail closed. Brancato, 35, starred in the film “A Bronx Tale” and had a recurring role on “The Sopranos.” He is serving a 10-year prison sentence for a 2005 burglary which resulted in the death of an off-duty police officer. Brancato will be eligible for parole in 2014.
