Jolie Wanted To Be A Funeral Director

Angelina Jolie said on this week’s edition of “60 Minutes” she once considered a career as a funeral director. “It sounds like this very strange, eccentric, dark thing to do, but, in fact, I lost my grandfather and was very upset with his funeral,” Jolie said. “How somebody passes and how family deals with this passing and what death is should be addressed in a different way. If this whole acting thing didn’t work out that was going to be my path.” Jolie, who has six children with her longtime partner Brad Pitt, is on the promotion trail for her directorial debut, “In the Land of Blood and Honey.”

Charges Dropped In ‘Idol’ Hopeful’s Death

A New Jersey man arrested for the 2009 hit-and-run crash that killed a woman who auditioned for “American Idol” twice has pleaded guilty to drunken driving. Daniel Bark, 25, also pleaded guilty Monday to eluding police as part of a plea deal. In exchange for his plea, charges of aggravated manslaughter, death by auto and knowingly leaving the scene of a fatal accident were dropped. Bark admitted he drank about six beers at the Bamboo nightclub in Seaside Heights, then got behind the wheel of a car and ignored orders from two bicycle police officers to stop. However, he denied striking and killing aspiring “Idol” contestant Alexis Cohen, who was found dead in the area where Bark had been driving erratically. Although police said he initially confessed to hitting Cohen, the admission was inadmissible in court because Bark was not read his rights before he started answering questions. Bark will be sentenced January 27th.

Man Says He Heard Natalie Wood Screaming

A man who says he was about 50 yards from the boat Natalie Wood was on the night she drowned says he heard the actress “screaming for help.” Anthony Sakal, 39, told “Inside Edition” he was 9 at the time, and had been aboard another boat about 50 yards from the Splendour – the vessel Wood had been on with her husband, Robert Wagner, and Christopher Walken – when the actress somehow ended up in the water. Officials recently reopened the investigation into Wood’s 1981 death, saying they received new information regarding the case, but they haven’t offered any details. Sakal’s mother, Marilyn Wayne, publicly revealed last week that she heard a woman screaming for help the night Wood died. Anthony Sakal recalled his own memories in his interview with “Inside Edition.” “Natalie Wood was screaming for help. The other party was joking about helping her … . I can only tell you they responded, ‘Hang on!’ And, then nothing happened.” When pressed to describe what else he heard, Sakal replied: “I heard, ‘I’m drowning, please help me.’ That sort of thing. I heard from the other boat, ‘Don’t worry, we’re going to save you.’” Sakal said the people on the other boat sounded drunk and didn’t seem to believe Wood’s cries for help were serious.

The network now plans to produce only one of the five scripts it has left to shoot for the show’s first season, bringing to 14 the total number of episodes expected to run in 2011-12. “Well, we received THE call, #PanAm is only coming back for one more episode after Christmas,” Vanasse, who plays Colette, tweeted. “But up to the end, we’ll give it our all!” The show co-stars Christina Ricci, Mike Vogel, Kelli Garner and Ashley Greene.

Bono, who appeared on last weekend’s TV special “Being Chaz,” said recently he’d love to work with Martinez, Arquette and Cressley again. Now it seems he may get his wish. “He is being asked to do tests and put together a pilot. It could be a great alternative male counterpart to the ladies on ‘The View,’” a source told the Post.

Frye claims the double standard is sex discrimination. He also says offering these women free admission “promotes harmful, negative stereotypes.” Playboy claims it didn’t set the admission price and only rents out the mansion to others. The party, which took place October 1st, was a charity event benefiting ex-playmate Jenny McCarthy’s Generation Rescue for Autism Awareness.

The rep says Miley is not a pothead and it was all meant in jest.

Anne Hathaway Engaged

Anne Hathaway is engaged to boyfriend Adam Shulman, her spokesman said yesterday. Hathaway has been dating Shulman, an actor and jewelry designer, since 2008. Tobey was one of 22 people sued this summer for taking Bradley Ruderman to the cleaners in multiple underground poker games back in 2007 and 2008. Miley Cyrus is a self-proclaimed “stoner.” The “Hannah Montana” star turned 19 on November 23rd and celebrated with a birthday party thrown by pal Kelly Osbourne at Beacher’s Madhouse at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. In a video of the private bash obtained by TheDaily.com, Cyrus seemingly admits to being a fan of smoking marijuana. “This is amazing,” she says of a cake baked to look like Bob Marley, which Osbourne presented to her friend. “You know you’re a stoner when your friends make you a ‘Bob Miley’ cake. You know you smoke way too much f***ing weed.” "I thought salvia was your problem, man?” Osbourne joked, referring to the infamous bong video that surfaced after Cyrus’ 18th birthday party last year in which Miley was caught smoking what she later claimed was the legal herb. Miley’s mom and dad – Tish and formerly estranged Billy Ray Cyrus – were also in attendance, along with Rumer Willis, Victoria Justice and boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, as well as a number of dwarfs, including a mini-Nicki Minaj.

Lohan pleaded guilty last week in Tampa to battering his girlfriend in 2010 and was ordered to complete a four-month, domestic-violence treatment program.

Walken ‘Doesn’t Know’ Why Natalie Wood Case Re-Opened

Christopher Walken says he “just doesn’t know” why police are reinvestigating Natalie Wood’s death 30 years later. Walken was on the boat the night Natalie died, but reportedly retired to his cabin well before the actress went missing. When asked by TMZ why he thought police had reopened the case, which also involves Robert Wagner, Walken said, “I just don’t know,” before refusing to comment further. Los Angeles homicide police say they are reopening the investigation in light of new information given to them. Wood’s body was found off the coast of California one day after she apparently fell off the boat she had been drinking on with Wagner and Walken.

Wagner’s Bad Timing

Robert Wagner played a suspected murderer on “NCIS” last night, just days after the Los Angeles police department announced it has reopened its investigation into the 1981 drowning death of Natalie Wood, who was then Wagner’s wife. Wagner returned to his recurring role as Anthony DiNozzi Sr., who was suspected of murder after he woke up with no memory of the previous night and a dead woman in the trunk of his car. The Los Angeles sheriff’s department said last week Wagner is not a suspect in Wood’s death. Wood was 43 when she died while boating off Santa Catalina Island with Wagner and her “Brainstorm” co-star Christopher Walken. Her death was ruled an accidental drowning.

The cowl-neck silk-crepe gown, which was designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, is being sold for $3,100 on the U.K. version of Net-a-Porter.com. The version for sale differs slightly from the one worn by Middleton, featuring a zipper detailing in the back – instead of buttons, as on the original – and lacks the lace panels around the sleeve and neck. Meanwhile, the official replica of the Carolina Herrera gown Kristen Stewart wears in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1” is now available from Alfred Angelo. Herrera’s original design was inspired by the book. “I was called by Stephenie Meyer. We had to discuss a lot, but I was very inspired by her book and the description of the wedding,” Herrera said. It comes in ivory or white, sizes 0 to 30W and is priced at $799.

Fernando Rivas, 59, appeared in a South Carolina federal court Monday where he pleaded not guilty. Rivas was arrested in April after FBI agents raided the composer’s home and discovered a collection of photographs depicting a 4-year-old girl naked and “restrained in handcuffs and other bondage-type devices.” Police say Rivas – who also taught music at a local Charleston school – admitted he took the pictures of the little girl and emailed them to two other people. J.R. Martinez Wins ‘Dancing With The Stars’

J.R. He turned to his pro-dancing partner, Karina Smirnoff, and added, “You are amazing.” Rob Kardashian came in second. Last night, the stars had to reprise their favorite dances of the season; those scores were combined with Monday night’s totals and votes from viewers. Lake, who has dominated in the scoring all season, was knocked out of the running, taking third place. Kardashian and Martinez then performed an instant samba to music that was selected for them during the show. They both earned perfect scores of 30 points.

Brett Ratner Apologizes For Gay Slur, Resigns As Oscar Producer

“Tower Heist” director Brett Ratner has apologized for remarking that “rehearsal is for f*gs” at a premiere over the weekend. Ratner said, “I apologize for any offense my remarks caused. It was a dumb way of expressing myself. Everyone who knows me knows that I don’t have a prejudiced bone in my body. But as a storyteller I should have been much more thoughtful about the power of language and my choice of words.” The director has since resigned as producer of the 84th Academy Awards. Ratner said, “Being asked to help put on the Oscar show was the proudest moment of my career. But as painful as this may be for me, it would be worse if my association with the show were to be a distraction from the Academy and the high ideals it represents.”

A revealing new TV documentary about Dr. Conrad Murray is to debut on MSNBC Friday night – four days after the physician was convicted of involuntary manslaughter. The show debuts December 1st.

Straight, Gay Couple Lose Virginity On ‘Glee’

Last night’s episode of the popular Fox comedy “Glee” featured two couples – the heterosexual Finn and Rachel and the homosexual Kurt and Blaine – losing their virginity. The episode sparked controversy even before it hit the air. EW’s PopWatch described the episode, titled “The First Time,” as “incredibly moving” and said the sex scenes were “handled very delicately.” But television watchdog group the Parents Television Council is outraged by the controversial storyline and what it says is a “celebration” of teen sex. “The fact that ‘Glee’ intends to not only broadcast, but celebrate children having sex is reprehensible. The gender of the high school characters involved is irrelevant. Teen sex is now more prevalent on TV than adult sex and ‘Glee’ is only playing into that trend,” PTC President Tim said.

Court Won’t Hear ‘Ghost Hunters’ Appeal

The Supreme Court won’t hear an appeal from some television networks being sued by a paranormal investigator who claims his idea was stolen and turned into the show “Ghost Hunters.” Without comment, the court turned away an appeal from NBC Universal, Inc., Universal Television Networks and Pilgrim Films & Television, Inc. Parapsychologist Larry Montz and producer Daena Smoller unsuccessfully shopped around an idea for a show about paranormal investigators in 1981. “Ghost Hunters” appeared on the Sci Fi Channel - now known as SyFy in 2004. Montz and Smoller sued in federal court. The courts threw out their copyright claims, but the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals agreed that they could sue for breach of an implied contract and breach of confidence claims.

Another Dugger On The Way

Word that the population just hit 7 billion isn’t slowing down one family. The TLC reality show “19 Kids and Counting” may soon need a new name. Arkansas couple Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar appeared with their clan on NBC’s “Today” show yesterday and announced they are expecting their 20th child in April. Forty-five-year-old Michelle Duggar said she’s in good physical shape and that she’s not worried, despite complications during her last pregnancy that led to the premature birth of their youngest child two years ago. She says she’s made it through her first trimester safely. The couple doesn’t use birth control. Michelle says she didn’t necessarily expect to get pregnant again and that she and her husband are excited to welcome the new addition to the family.

The recent news that Ethan Zohn’s cancer had returned “completely filled [him] with fear and anger and anxiety,” the “Survivor” champ said. But instead of running scared, he ran a marathon. Ethan finished the New York City Marathon yesterday with an unofficial time of 4:20:46, just minutes after last year’s time of 4:16. “Cancer’s not going to slow me down,” the reality star says, “and it’s not going to slow anyone else down. I’m going to continue to charge forward and do the things that I love.” Ethan didn’t race alone. He captained a team of 70 runners and fundraisers – including some of his costars from this season of “The Amazing Race” – for his Grassroots Soccer charity, which combats the AIDS epidemic in Africa. Ethan also had an “incredible support network” cheering him along the arduous 26.2-mile course, including family and friends as well as girlfriend and fellow “Survivor” winner Jenna Morasca. While most marathoners will be resting this week after the grueling race, Ethan’s got another round of chemo scheduled for tomorrow.

Lohan was booted out of a 360-hour community service program at the Downtown Women’s Shelter after repeatedly failing to show up – and was late on the first day she tried to work at the morgue.
